Battery Chargers

We specialise in battery chargers for NiMH rechargeable batteries. There are many different types of battery chargers which can be categorised in a variety of ways. The simplest is how the charger indicates when a battery is charged - these can be divided into two types - Manual or ‘Dumb’ chargers and Intelligent chargers. A manual battery charger will recharge NiMH batteries continuously and will not shut off when the batteries are fully charged. Whilst an intelligent or ‘Smart’ chargers usually has an LCD display which will indicate the level of charge in the battery – for example if it is half charged, fully charged etc. When the battery is fully charged this will be indicated on the LCD display and the charger will stop charging or revert to a trickle charge to keep the battery topped up.

Chargers can also vary in the sizes of battery they will recharge – from AA and AAA size batteries only, to Universal chargers, being suitable for a range of rechargeable battery sizes. For more information visit our Guide to Battery Chargers or contact our team.
